Facility Manager – Mt. Vernon, OH

Location: Mount Vernon, Ohio

Responsibilities:

Promote a culture of safety within the facility by reinforcing the importance of everyday safety precautions with employees

Manage employees to include, but not limited to the following: recruiting, onboarding, performance management, training, and employee relations.

Provide livestock marketing solutions, specifically for sheep, goat, and cattle to members, buyers/customers, and producers to include, but not limited to the following: livestock transportation and logistics, procurement options, collection points, direct sales and marketing, order buying services, credit services, and risk management services.

Increase profits by increasing volume, enhancing margin, and developing additional market share for all services offered by UPI.

Identify, develop, nurture, and sustain long term / strategic customer relationships.

Address and resolve customer concerns.

Ensure that all accounts receivables are within company guidelines and follows company policies.

Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed.

Ensure that rules and regulations created by the Packers and Stockyards Administration and state department(s) of agriculture are followed.

Ensure annual budgets for facility are met / exceeded, followed and expenses remain within budget to ensure that the facility meets or exceeds the budget.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Ag Business, or Ag Economics preferred.

5 years of previous experience with livestock, specifically sheep and goat.

3 years of previous experience in a leadership or management role.

2 years of previous experience in a customer relations position, such as sales or customer service.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, and outlook).

Must be agile and able to lift up to 35 lbs. regularly and 100 lbs. occasionally.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must have experience using a skid loader.
