Columbus, Ohio — United Producers, Inc. (UPI), the Midwest’s largest livestock marketing cooperative, is pleased to announce that Tony Thomas has been hired as Vice President, Livestock Marketing.

In his role, Thomas will focus on strengthening UPI’s livestock marketing efforts, supporting operational excellence, and advancing the organization’s strategic growth initiatives.

“Tony has a tenured career and has become a trusted leader in multiple facets of the livestock marketing industry. We’re pleased that we can bring his extensive experience and expertise to UPI to benefit our members,” said Mike Bumgarner, President & CEO of United Producers, Inc.

Thomas brings more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience in the global animal agriculture industry, with deep experience across animal breeding and animal health.

A lifelong advocate for agriculture whose career was shaped by his roots on a family farm, Thomas has dedicated his work to advancing both the science and business of the livestock industry, spending most of his career with Genus plc, the parent company of ABS Global and PIC.

Thomas brings a deep commitment to the industry he grew up in and is eager to contribute his experience and perspective to UPI’s leadership team. He resides in Tennessee with his wife and their two sons.
