Sr. Director, Livestock Marketing Operations

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team in delivering livestock marketing solutions, including logistics, procurement, auction sales, direct sales, and risk management for members, buyers, and producers.
• Lead, develop, and motivate team to meet goals and oversee assets with local managers to ensure safe, efficient operations that support the company’s growth and member services.
• Promote a culture of safety within the team by aligning with the Director of Safety, Facilities, and Assets to reinforce the importance of everyday safety precautions with employees and following company safety policies as well as ensuring physical assets are run efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure UPI is a leader in animal well-being and industry guidelines are met or exceeded within the Company.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets for the livestock marketing division.
• Stay current and communicate as needed the market conditions including, but not limited to, competitive data, commodity (livestock) values, industry trends, etc.
• Develop and implement strategies to grow the business that align with the company’s mission, vision, and core values.
• Demonstrate and promote positive interactions and communicate with others both internally and externally to ensure the company’s mission, vision, and core values are being followed.
• Ensure that rules and regulations created by the Packers and Stockyards Administration and state department(s) of agriculture are followed.
• Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience demonstrating ability to manage and lead teams to success.
• Strong knowledge of livestock with emphasis in the commercial cattle industry.
• Knowledge of the livestock auction industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, AgBusiness, or related field preferred.
• Must reside or be willing to relocate to an area within our footprint.
