Auction Clerk – Salem and Shelbyville, IL

United Producers, Inc. (UPI) is one of the nation’s largest livestock marketing cooperatives. We are currently looking for a PART-TIME Auction Clerk to work at our Salem and Shelbyville livestock auction facilities on Tuesdays and Thursdays ONLY, varying from 4 to 10 hours each day.

Must meet the following requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency using computers
• Ability to troubleshoot basic computer issues
• Knowledge of livestock preferred

Responsibilities include:

• Entering livestock tag number, description, price and buyer information into the computer system accurately during the auction.
• Enter seller information as needed.
• Ensure that computers and TVs are working properly prior to the sale.
• Troubleshoot any computer issues during the sale, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired experience and requirements:

• Proficiency using computers and prior data entry experience with high efficiency.
• Excellent Communication, Listening skills and Customer Service skills.
• Prior experience working with livestock (cattle, sheep, hogs) is preferred.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varied weather.
