Risk Management/Communications Intern

Employment type: Intern, 25 hours, Nonexempt

General Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in planning and organizing corporate , membership and employee meetings,
writing and editing of the monthly employee newsletter, delegate election, scholarship program and NCFC Grassroots Initiative.
2. Coordinate daily market and auction information from United Producers, Inc. markets and update web-page and DTN market results.
3. Maintain web-page.
4. Write and distribute press releases, Assist with development, printing and distribution of collateral materials
5. Develop and place ads.
6. Monitor public image of company. Help order and maintain a supply of current promotional items with corporate logo.
7. Maintain current mailing lists for company publications, communications and media outlets. 
8. Provide support for other meetings, including power points, printed materials, catering, etc. 
9. Communications audit for markets located in six states throughout the Midwest.
10. Various clerical duties and projects.
11. Other duties assigned by supervisor.
12. Travel required.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Work and Skill Requirements

1. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
2. Team attitude. Must be willing and able to work with other departments, employees, customers and the general public. 
3. Proven experience with PC’s including desk-top publishing, word processing, data bases.
4. Time management skills.
5. Minimum 25 hours a week.
6. Must be a junior or senior majoring in agriculture communications.
