Wapakoneta Weekly Auction Discontinued

We wish to inform you of some changes which will occur at our Wapakoneta, Ohio operation.

Beginning October 8, 2008 we will discontinue the weekly auction at Wapakoneta. Declining numbers of livestock available, coupled with the cost of operating an auction facility, have made this necessary.

Please note that UPI will continue to collect and market your livestock on a weekly basis. This will occur at the same UPI location in Wapakoneta under the management of Ed Ebbing. Collection day will continue to be every Tuesday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM, with the option to deliver livestock Monday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Livestock will be priced on a private treaty basis and as always, you will continue to receive a check from UPI.

Please note the following details:

- We will accept fed cattle, cows, bulls, baby Holstein calves, hogs and sows each week.
- For feeder cattle, prior arrangements with Ed Ebbing will be necessary in order to allow quick movement of the cattle.
- Sheep and goats will be collected once a month on the first Tuesday of each month, please call for details.

We encourage you to call Ed Ebbing or John Albert prior to delivering livestock to our collection point for updates.

UPI loan officers and risk management representatives remain available to members in this region.

UPI is committed to bringing you all of the livestock marketing services possible. However, much like your farm operation, we must adapt how we do business as the livestock industry evolves.
