About UPI

Our Mission

"The mission of United Producers, Inc. and its subsidiaries, is to provide services to agriculture, with an emphasis on animal agriculture, on a cooperative basis that ultimately improves our members’ net income."

United Producers, Inc. is and always has been a member-driven livestock cooperative with a rich heritage rooted in helping to create a better quality of life for our members, their families and their communities.

By staying focused on our mission, United Producers, Inc. is meeting the needs of today’s farmers with valuable services in three broad areas—livestock marketing, risk management and agricultural financing.

Our Vision

To be the premier provider of livestock marketing, credit and related services. To achieve this vision, we will offer various alternatives for our programs and services, which will be designed to allow the producer to choose which program best fits their operation size, scope and risk-management objectives.

Our Core Values

We value doing business as a cooperative with ultimate accountability to our members.

We value the rights of independent farmers to choose services best suited to enhance their operation.

We value doing business, in all aspects, with integrity and honesty.

We value member advocacy and grass roots involvement.

We value being a good corporate citizen with active involvement in agriculture.

We value the importance of being good stewards of animals in our care.

We value our people and affirm their role in our mutual success.

Our Heritage

United Producers, Inc. took shape in 1999 through the consolidation in operations of Producers Livestock Association (Ohio/Indiana) and MFA Livestock (Missouri). Over the next 2 years UPI brought into its’ operations Interstate Producers Livestock Association (Illinois) and the Michigan Livestock Exchange (Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky). Through our original identities we have provided needed livestock services to our farmer members for over 70 years.

Today, United Producers, Inc. services 45,000 members in Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Missouri. We operate 42 facilities and handle approximately 3 million head of livestock while maintaining a loan portfolio of over $50 million.
